Julian Shaw, 'The English Woodturner' professional woodturner, artist, teacher and woodworking historian, has been a green woodworker for the past thirteen years. As a woodturner, he has been making bowls from green wood since 1992. He exhibited at the American Craft Council's San Francisco Show for 4 years, and has sold his work at many other prestigous Art and Crafts shows and galleries. In 2000, he started teaching classes in woodturning at local woodworking colleges and runs regular turning classes at the WoodCraft Store in Santa Rosa. In 2004, he started the Green Woodwork Program: working freshly cut logs, using hand-tools to make functional items for use in the home and garden. When not teaching, Julian can be found in his architectural turning workshop making posts, ballusters, finials, and other turned items.
